Notifications
H-1B Notice
As determined by the Florida Board of Governors, the University will no longer sponsor new H-1B petitions for new hires until January 5, 2027, this includes Change of Employer (COE) for current H-1B holders.
The University is reviewing the sponsorship of the following H-1B actions on a case-by-case basis:
Amendments and Extensions for existing H-1B employees
Change of Status (COS) for individuals already in the U.S.
Please note: Immigration regulations and federal requirements are subject to change at any time, and the University has no control over such changes. Departments should remain flexible and consult with the FIU Immigration office for the most current guidance before initiating any employment actions involving H-1B sponsorship.
