Civilians under threat as violence intensifies in Sudan
Following a surge in violence across Sudan, Plan International warns that attacks on civilians are placing girls in greater danger.

Conflict threatens to pause their education and dreams, but girls in Sudan refuse to be sidelined. Plan International stands with them to ensure their voices are heard and their safety is prioritised, even in the most challenging environments.
We provide the tools, safe spaces, and mentorship girls need to lead. By building networks of support, girls reclaim their futures and drive positive change within their own communities.
From surviving to thriving, Sudanese girls are transforming into community leaders. Their strength is not just personal—it is the foundation upon which a more peaceful and equitable future for Sudan will be built.
We work in Kassala, White Nile, North Kordofan, South Kordofan, North Darfur, Khartoum, Red Sea, Al Gedarif and Al-Jazira States.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
Education as a lifeline
We ensure girls stay in school, turning education into a shield against crisis because school is the gateway to girls realising their dreams.
Defending girls’ futures
We protect girls from all forms of violence and harmful practices, because a girl’s future is hers to decide.
Empowering future leaders
We support young women to learn the skills they need to break cycles of poverty and be financially independent.
Standing with girls in crisis
In the heart of conflict, we provide safe spaces, so girls’ protection, dignity, and voices remain unshaken.
Girls as change-makers
We don’t just speak for girls; we amplify their voices and ensure they lead in making the decisions that shape our world.
